Musical Learning in Childhood from a Wallonian Psychogenetic Perspective:
A Literature Review
Keywords:
Musical Learning, Child Development, Henri WallonAbstract
Childhood constitutes a central period in human development, marked by emotional, motor, and cognitive transformations (Wallon, 2007; Queiroz et al., 2006). In this context, musical learning emerges as a relevant field within music cognition studies, as it articulates body, emotion, and language (Louro, 2017). This paper is derived from an undergraduate thesis and presents findings from a literature review that sought to understand, in light of Henri Wallon’s psychogenetic theory, the relationships between musical learning and child development, with emphasis on emotional and psychomotor aspects.
